These are a very nice solid wood set of cutting boards. One side is used for meat (thus the groove to catch liquids) and one side is for cutting vegetables. These are so easy on your knives, much better than the marble slabs that are currently in fashion. I know a few people have complained that they warp, well, kitchen chopping board are not meant to be put in the dishwasher and exposed to a one hour washing or soaked in your sink with your other dishes. You have to know how to take care of these, and that would be by using one side for meat/one for veggies and washing immediately after each and every use. I would also recommend wiping down with a bleach based kitchen cleaner once in a while to help kill germs and keep them sanitary. I love the fact that you get 3 solid wooden boards and the big one is big enough to handle any slicing job.
